Hon. Drew A. Perkins

Drew A. Perkins was first elected to the Senate in November 2006. He is a member of the Revenue Committee, Judiciary Committee, Select Committee on Capital Financing and Investments and Wind Energy Task Force, Wyoming Court Security Commission; NCSL Committee on Legislative Effectiveness and Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision. In 2009, he served as chairman of the Lien Study Group.

While Drew is only serving his first term as a senator, he has significant experience in community and political affairs. He was appointed to the Natrona County Commission in September, 2003, and was elected Natrona County Commissioner in 2004, serving as Chairman until his term expired in 2006.

Drew is a member and chairman of the board of directors of the Casper Downtown Development Authority (5 years) and serves as a member of board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming (9 years). He is a former board member for the Wyoming Special Olympics. He has been an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years.

Drew grew up in Wyoming, graduating from high school in Casper, Wyoming. His wife, Kristie, is a native of Wyoming, also grew up in Casper. Drew has been in the private practice of law since 1992, the entire time in Wyoming, emphasizing Trust, Estate, Tax and Business Law. He graduated from the University of Wyoming, College of Law, in 1992, earning his J.D. with honors. He also earned an M.S., Taxation, from Southeastern University (Washington, D.C.) in 1983, and a B.S., Accounting, from Brigham Young University (Utah) in 1980. Drew is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to practicing law, he was the Vice President – Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Sutron Corporation, a high-tech company in Herndon, Virginia, until 1989 when he returned to Wyoming to attend law school.
