Meredith Asay attended the University of Wyoming where she received her undergraduate and law degrees. Upon graduating from law school, Meredith worked for the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office in its Human Services Division. In 2007, she moved to Washington, D.C. to pursue a Masters of Law degree in global health law and policy at the Georgetown University Law Center. After working as a fellow with the Georgetown University Law Center Women’s Law and Public Policy Fellowship Program, Meredith returned to Wyoming to serve as a policy advisor to Governor Dave Freudenthal. She advised the former governor on health policy as well as topics related to early childhood, women’s issues, veterans and military issues, and domestic violence. Meredith continued in her role as policy advisor for Governor Mead until leaving his office to work with the Wyoming Department of Health in May of 2011.

Within the Department of Health, Meredith serves as the Administrator of the Director’s Unit for Policy, Research and Evaluation. Through this unit, Meredith works on a broad array of health issues including: health care financing/Medicaid, public health, behavioral health, aging, and the Affordable Care Act.
