Ms. Lisa A. Marcy
Lisa A. Marcy, principal of the Marcy Law Firm in Salt Lake City, has made her mark as one of America’s most enthusiastic, dynamic, and inspirational teachers of advocacy.
- She has been a Faculty member and Team Leader for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s national program as well as its regional programs;
- She serves as Team Leader at the Louisiana State University School of Law Trial Advocacy Training Program;
- Lisa has served as faculty for the American Bar Association’s Trial training programs;
- She has taught courses for the Utah State Bar, spoken at various women’s professional groups, and trained small claims judges;
As a frequent faculty member for professional and client development training programs for The Professional Education Group (P.E.G.®), Lisa has pioneered innovative methods for teaching and motivating female lawyers to be successful in courtrooms, in hearings and with law partners, legal adversaries and clients.
Lisa is a graduate of Hamilton College in New York, received her law degree from the University of Utah, School of Law, and began her legal career in Paris, France. She brings more than two decades of varied litigation and regulatory practice to bear in her professional presentations and regularly sits as a small claims judge in Salt Lake City.
Lisa is the co-author of Opening Statements 2d Supplements (Thomson/West) with her frequent seminar partner, Dominic J. Gianna, and has published in the field of trial techniques and persuasion. She was nominated for the Salt Lake Tribune’s “Utahan of the Year” in 2009. Lisa and Dominic, have educated, inspired, and entertained legal audiences throughout North America.
