Dear Fellow Bar Members,

I hope you will join me in Gillette from September 10th through the 13th for the Wyoming State Bar’s Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference. The Wyoming State Bar and the Gillette community are working together to ensure that the event is exciting, entertaining and educational. The event will be held at Campbell County’s Camplex Facility.

The conference boasts a schedule of both nationally acclaimed speakers as well as state specialists who will provide informative and useful presentations on various legal topics. Featured speakers include the Hon. William F. Downes, former United States District Judge for the District of Wyoming, and nationally recognized legal commentator Jack Ford. Jeremy Michaels and his committee have planned a stimulating, well-rounded education schedule, including an opening plenary session on “Cowboy Ethics,” Roy Ginsburg’s practice building programs, Fred Ury and Thomas Lyons’ program on the future of the legal profession, and a tour of one of the local coal mines. Whether you are a first-year associate or a seasoned professional, and regardless of your area of practice, you will find the CLE programs both informative and beneficial.

Entertainment will include an opening reception Tuesday evening, a musical entertainment and comedy program on Wednesday, a luncheon on Thursday, the Annual Banquet Thursday evening, and the annual business meeting breakfast on Friday. In addition, the annual Race Judicata will be sponsored by the Campbell County Recreation Department, and free passes to the Recreation Center (which includes a climbing wall, leisure pool, and water slides as well as the more traditional ball courts, exercise equipment and running track) will be available for attorneys and their families. For golfers, there will be a tournament Friday afternoon at the beautiful and unique Golf Club at Devil’s Tower near Hulett. For family and friends, attractions within a short drive include Devil’s Tower, the Big Horn Mountains, Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills.

I look forward to meeting with you and hope you take the opportunity to enjoy everything the Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference has to offer.
