Dear Fellow Bar Members,
||Patrick W. Korell|
On behalf of the officers, commissioners, and staff, I am inviting you to join us in Cheyenne for the Wyoming State Bar’s Annual Meeting and Judicial Conference. The event will be held from September 9th through the 11th at Little America Hotel and Resort.
This year, bar members and guests will have the option to attend events and CLE for a reduced, daily price. However, once you look at the schedule of events, speakers and topics, I am sure you will want to attend the entire conference. There is something available for everyone!
The conference features nationally recognized speakers, judges from both federal and state judiciary, and select state practitioners all of whom will share invaluable thoughts, ideas, and practice pointers. Additionally, the Wyoming Supreme Court has agreed to hear an oral argument at the conference which will be followed by a question and answer session. Other highlights include “Ethical Jeopardy” featuring former Wyoming Governor and Ambassador to Ireland Mike Sullivan as Wyoming’s answer to Alex Trebek. Speaker Brian Baird who is a clinical psychologist, retired Member of Congress (WA), and award-winning instructor named the funniest celebrity in Washington, D.C., will present an eye-opening lecture on successful communication techniques.
Joining us at the Annual banquet, as our distinguished, guest speaker, will be Richard “Dick” Cheney who has served the United States as Vice-President, Secretary of Defense, and Chief of Staff. He was also elected to the House of Representatives from Wyoming and attained the position of House Minority Whip.
As always, there will be an annual golf tournament which, this year, will be held at the Cheyenne Country Club on Friday following the conference. Race enthusiasts can participate in the annual Race Judicata. However, perhaps the best part of the conference is the opportunity to see old friends and colleagues.
Please take advantage of this great conference. I look forward to seeing you this fall.
