Senior Collections Litigation Attorney

Date Posted: 09/19/2013
Employer: Machol & Johannes
Location: Cheyenne, WY and surrounding area
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: DOE

A large Colorado-based collection law firm seeks a Senior Collection Litigation Attorney to manage daily legal operations in its Wyoming office. The job will require frequent appearances in Wyoming Courts for Return Hearings and Trials, attending Wyoming Mediation Sessions, and preparing Wyoming cases for Trial. The job will also require you to oversee a small staff of Wyoming-based paralegals and administrative staff. This position reports directly to the firm’s national Chief Operating Officer and the firm’s national Managing Attorneys.

Please do not apply for this position unless you have at least two (2) years of experience as a Collection Litigation Attorney. You must have experience working in the State of Wyoming court system as it relates to Collection Law.

With our headquarters in Colorado, you will become our “eyes and ears” in the State of Wyoming. In this integral role, you will track cases, draft correspondence and pleadings, prepare cases for Trial, interview witnesses, attend Mediation Sessions, appear for Return Hearings, and conduct Trials. Our practice is statewide and travel for appearances in Courts across the state is required; however, you will have access to a network of appearance attorneys to help mitigate travel to outlying courts. You will also need to occasionally visit our Colorado office for short periods of time.

The position can be demanding. 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, five to six days per week is expected. As a contingency firm, no billable requirements are expected.

An ability to work independently, intellectual curiosity, deadline sensitivity and problem-solving mindset are extremely important. The applicant must be a self-starter, demonstrate a willingness to exercise initiative, and have a good sense of humor.

Our firm’s history dates back 61 years. We are a family run business with nearly 200 employees. We have a strong management team who will help you succeed in this role.

This is a permanent, full-time position. Compensation is based upon education, salary history and experience. Our compensation package is very competitive.

You must be a currently licensed Wyoming Attorney with experience as a Collection Litigation Attorney to be considered for this position.

Application Instructions:
Please e-mail your resume and include your education, salary history and salary requirements to jobs@mjfirm.com.
