Course Highlights
Lawyers make mistakes…and some are more egregious than others. Come Join Sean Carter (America’s Funniest Lawyer) and Stuart Teicher (the CLE Performer) for a unique Live Webcast- an online program during which Carter & Teicher will reveal the most outrageous ethics violations from the past few years and the lessons that all lawyers could learn from those missteps. The emphasis will be on the rules that are violated and how practicing lawyers could learn valuable lessons about those rules so you could lead a safer practice.

Faculty
Sean Carter is the founder of Lawpsided Seminars, a company devoted to solid legal continuing education with a healthy dose of laughter.

Mr. Carter graduated from Harvard Law School in 1992. His ten years of legal practice focused on corporate securities and mergers and acquisitions. During this time, he represented such clients as GNC, Experian, The Boston Beer Company Homeside Lending, Safelite Auto Glass, J. Crew and many others. Most recently, he served as in-house counsel to a publicly-traded finance company

In 2002, Mr. Carter left the practice of law to pursue a career as the country's foremost Humorist at Law. Since then, Mr. Carter has crisscrossed the country delivering his Lawpsided Seminars for state and local bar associations, law firms, in-house corporate legal departments and law schools. Each year, he presents more than 100 humorous programs on such topics as legal ethics, stress management, constitutional law, legal marketing and much more.

Mr. Carter is the author of the first-ever comedic legal treatise -- If It Does Not Fit, Must You Acquit?: Your Humorous Guide to the Law. His syndicated legal humor column has appeared in general circulation newspapers in more than 30 states and his weekly humor column for lawyers appeared in the ABA e-Report from 2003 to 2006.

Finally, Sean lives in Mesa, Arizona with his wife and four sons.

Stuart I. Teicher, Esq. is a professional legal educator who focuses on ethics law. A practicing attorney for 20 years, Stuart’s career is now dedicated to helping fellow attorneys survive the practice of law and thrive in the profession. Mr. Teicher teaches seminars, provides in-house training to law firms and gives keynote speeches at conventions and association meetings. He also provides consultation and representation in attorney disciplinary matters.

Stuart helps attorneys get better at what they do (and enjoy the process) through his entertaining and educational CLE Performances. His expertise is in “Technethics,” a term Stuart coined that refers to the ethical issues in social networking and other technology. Stuart also speaks about “Practical Ethics”-- those lessons hidden in the ethics rules that enhance a lawyer's practice.

Mr. Teicher is a Supreme Court appointee to the New Jersey District Ethics Committee where he investigates and prosecutes grievances filed against attorneys, an adjunct Professor of Law at Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey where he teaches Professional Responsibility and an adjunct Professor at Rutgers University in New Brunswick where he teaches undergraduate writing courses.
