This course will give you the foundation you need to represent your traumatic brain injury client. It will assist with the basic understanding about traumatic brain injury, types of injury, severity of injury, difference between primary and secondary injury, relevant evidence for severity of injury, neuropsychological testing and bias, role and limitation of imaging, stages of recovery, physical, cognitive and behavioral symptoms of brain injury and long-term complications of traumatic brain injury.

Speakers

Dianna Anderson

Ms. Dianna L. Anderson BSN, RN, CRRN, CCM, CNLCP has 30+ years of very deep and broad clinical experience, especially in the areas of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), strokes and amputation. Dianna has been a nurse educator for several years teaching nurses, residents and patients. Ms. Anderson holds several national certifications including Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN), Certified Case Manager (CCM) and Certified Nurse Life Care Planner (CNLCP). She is licensed to practice as a RN in Utah (34 multistate license); holding additional licenses to practice in Nevada and California.

Dianna has provided thousands of hours of clinical care while working as a RN, charge nurse, case manager, care coordinator and nurse professional developer (NPD/nurse educator) at the University of Utah (UofU) inpatient medical rehabilitation (Rehab) and home health agencies. Ms. Anderson has had extensive specialty experience for many years as a care-coordinator on the TBI, SCI, stroke and amputation teams at the UofU where she helped facilitate Grand Rounds with professional CEU credits for the appropriate organizations. As a former board member of the Utah Brain Injury Alliance, Dianna served for three years as their NPD for CEU creation for their annual professional conference.
