2022 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference

September 13-16, 2022

Best Western Downtown Casper Hotel

123 West E. Street Casper, Wyoming

Host: J. Kenneth Barbe

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to invite you to join me in my hometown of Casper, Wyoming, for the Annual Meeting of the Wyoming State Bar. This will mark the first time since 2005 that the Bar has hosted the conference in Casper and will be the first in-person meeting in two years! I am hopeful that Casper’s central location, and the desire to connect again with friends and colleagues from around the state, will make this year’s meeting a great experience. The Continuing Legal Education Committee, chaired by Kara Ellsbury, has put together a program of classes on a wide range of interesting topics. There will be a plenary session on Cybersecurity, Data Privacy and Emerging Technologies, as well as breakout sessions in the areas of estate planning, trial practice, tribal law, attorney wellness, Chancery Court, and legal ethics, just to name a few. It will be possible to earn 19 hours of CLE credit, including 7.25 hours of ethics.

In addition to learning and earning CLE, several events will inform or simply allow you to socialize. Wednesday the annual Judicial Luncheon features a presentation by the Honorable Nathan Hecht, Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court. Wednesday evening there will be a social gathering at the National Historic Trails Museum overlooking the Platte River, the City of Casper, and Casper Mountain. Casper was a key stopping point for western migration on the Oregon, California, Bozeman and Mormon Trails. The Pony Express Trail also passed through Casper. The museum tells the stories of these trails. Join your fellow colleagues for some beverages and hors d’oeurves and enjoy everything the Museum has to offer. Thursday is the Pro Bono Luncheon where we will honor and recognize Bar members who have provided exceptional pro bono service. Thursday evening will feature the Annual Banquet with a keynote by well-respected, constitutional scholar, David Adler. Mr. Adler is President of Alturas Institute, a non-profit organization created to promote the Constitution, gender equality, and civic education. Friday’s luncheon will include the annual business meeting emceed by incoming President, Chris Hawks.

I hope you will be able to attend the meeting in person and enjoy reconnecting with fellow Bar members who you may not have seen for a while. For those who cannot attend the meeting in person, we will also offer all CLE programs virtually by Zoom.

I hope to see you in Casper!

J. Kenneth Barbe

President

2022 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference - Sponsor/Exhibitor Information

The Wyoming State Bar is proud to host the 2022 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference at the newly renovated Best Western Downtown Casper Hotel, and we hope you will join us!

Our event offers you a unique opportunity to market your products and/or services either through sponsorships, exhibitor booths or both! We value the relationship that we have with sponsors and exhibitors and hope you will too.

The Wyoming State Bar’s largest event, the Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for our members to learn about practice-related products and services, socialize with their colleagues and fulfill their Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements.

Exhibitor space is available in a comfortable and high-visibility pre-function area outside the Annual Meeting seminar rooms. Located immediately in front of, and surrounding, the entrances to most Annual Meeting seminar rooms, and serving as the site for all beverage breaks, these are excellent locations for attracting attendee attention.

For 2022, each space costs $750.00. This fee includes a draped six-foot table, two chairs and attendance for all meals, including: Wednesday’s Judicial Luncheon, Wednesday evening's Welcome Reception at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, Thursday’s Pro Bono Luncheon and evening cocktail party and Annual Banquet, and Friday’s Annual Business Meeting Luncheon.

To ensure your application is properly processed, you must complete and return the Exhibitor Registration Form no later than August 25, 2022.
