What Happens When Litigation Gets Their Hands on Your Workplace Investigation

This presentation will briefly introduce you to the laws that trigger a workplace investigation. It will walk through a workplace scenario that sounds typical (but sloppy) and is actually a worst-case scenario for non-obvious reasons. Lastly, the presentation will engage the audience to articulate what an attorney might do with their investigative work if they do or do not follow best practices. The comparison of what this work looks like in separation negotiations and litigation is enlightening to non-practitioners as it will span the scope of claims from false imprisonment to a violation of civil rights.
Speakers
Natalie Lynch
Natalie R. Lynch is a business and employment law attorney who has demonstrated expertise in workplace investigations, workplace employment law and entity formations. Having lived abroad in both Ghana and Spain, Natalie brings unique perspectives to helping companies conduct business nationally and internationally throughout Asia (particularly Japan and China), South Africa, Latin America and all over the world. Credentialed through the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI), Natalie is the only consulting and credentialed expert in Wyoming who conducts investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, hostile work environment and other issues. Although her expertise is in the hot topic of discrimination, she has decades of experience and a pragmatic approach.
