Have you ever felt burned out, stressed out and maxed out? It is possible to develop secondary stress from the experiences your employees, clients and colleagues are seeing, feeling, and living. This can leave you feeling mental fatigue which may have human and financial consequences. This fast-paced program provides both an understanding of Compassion Fatigue and common-sense strategies to go from acute stress reactions to post-traumatic growth. We will delve into methodologies that examine self-care, how to achieve balance with your behavioral traits in all areas and keys to “mindfulness”.

Participants will learn the differences and similarities between “burnout” and “Compassion Fatigue” and what to do to recognize symptoms in yourself and others, utilize practical ideas to overcome this common “mental health injury” and create stronger focus and results.

Speakers

Ryan Gallik

S. Gallik is an award-winning speaker and author of Silent Mayday, The Clinician's Guide to Working with First Responders. He is the founder of Ryan Gallik and Associates, an occupational safety, health and wellness firm, and the Co-Founder of The Mental Hygiene Project.

Ryan has 20 years of hands-on experience as a firefighter, EMT, paramedic, and Fire Science educator. He has developed peer support and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) programs and has worked with clinical professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists and licensed mental health counselors to create initiatives and partnerships with industries to find post traumatic growth.

Michael Stahl
