This CLE is a study of various ethical situations involving trial procedure, pleadings, motions, and discovery. It will also examine the related responsibilities of lawyers during proceedings, the rules guiding the advocate’s conduct, and will look at the results of a survey of both state and federal judges’ opinions when such conduct occurs in their courtrooms, including advice and discussion.
Claude E. Ducloux has been licensed in Texas since 1977, and has also been licensed in California and Colorado. In 2011, he won the highest statewide award from the State Bar of Texas for lifetime contribution to CLE (the “Gene Cavin Award”), and has spoken in more than 150 programs in three states since Jan 1, 2009, where attendees regularly rate his presentations very highly. Mr. Ducloux has a long legacy of bar service, including being President of the Austin Bar Association, and serving as Chair of almost every major Bar-related entity, as well as the Texas Bar Foundation.
