The Wyoming Lawyer Assistance Program (WyLAP) provides confidential assistance to Wyoming lawyers who are struggling with impairment issues, including treatment referrals and access to a support network of volunteers, Wyoming Lawyers Helping Lawyers. The program is governed by the Wyoming Supreme Court’s Rules for the Wyoming Lawyer Assistance Program.

WyLAP has contracted with the Wyoming Professional Assistance Program (WPAP), which was established in 1997. It operates a professional assistance program as provided by W.S. § 33-1-115(a)(iii), for intervention, evaluation, referral and monitoring for licensed professionals suffering from chemical dependency. A trained clinician will work with individuals to determine the best treatment plan and then monitor their recovery.

Wyoming lawyers, judges and law students seeking assistance may also contact WPAP directly at 307.472.1222.
