Blockchain, cryptocurrency and mining. Popular topics, especially in Wyoming! So, what does the Wyoming energy sector have to do with cryptocurrency? Come learn and ask questions! The Energy and Natural Resources Section together with the Business Law Section of the Wyoming Bar are sponsoring a webinar panel to discuss policy, regulation, legal trends and practical considerations of crypto mining in Wyoming.
Speakers
Brian Annes
Brian Annes is a graduate of the University of Wyoming College of Law and is currently an associate at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP. His practice focuses largely on upstream and midstream transactional matters for the energy industry, including asset acquisitions, joint developments, master services agreements and various midstream and marketing contracts. He has experience with gas purchase agreements, joint ventures and other arrangements related to cryptocurrency mining, flare mitigation and emissions credits.
Tatyana Bannan
Tatyana Bannan is a graduate of the University of Wyoming and has been a practicing oil and gas attorney for the last 5 years. Tatyana has started and is a member of multiple DAOs and consults on blockchain startups. Tatyana is a secretary of the sponsoring Wyoming Bar Section, Energy and Natural Resources and will moderate this panel.
Matthew Kaufman
As a partner with Hathaway & Kunz, Matt Kaufman’s legal practice focuses on business, corporate, technology, capital formation, intellectual property protection, mergers and acquisitions. Matt is one of only a few attorneys in Wyoming actively representing clients in private placement securities matters and is one of the only attorneys in Wyoming advising companies on blockchain, cryptocurrency and token offerings. Matt is counsel to dozens of start-ups, emerging technology companies and investment funds across Wyoming, is an active tech and real estate investor and has been a guest speaker on topics such as capital raising, securities, blockchain and legal issues recently has been appointed by the Wyoming Supreme Court to serve on the Chancery Court Committee, purposed withstanding up the newly created Chancery (business) court in Wyoming.
Christopher Rothfuss
Dr. Christopher Rothfuss has been the Senate Minority Leader of the Wyoming State Senate since 2013, representing District 9 from Laramie, Wyoming. He was first elected to the Wyoming State Senate in 2010. He is co-chairman of the Wyoming Blockchain Select Committee and serves on the Senate Education Committee, the Minerals, Business and Economic Development Committee, the Management Council and numerous other select committees and task forces. In addition to his legislative responsibilities, Dr. Rothfuss is an advanced technology consultant and a visiting Professor for the Honors College at the University of Wyoming.
