Beyond the Billable: Building Resilience and Well-being in Legal Life
October 10, 2025 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.
Sponsored by the Business Law & Young Lawyers Sections
Practicing law is mentally grueling, physically sedentary, and emotionally draining—an occupational triathlon that can leave even the most driven professionals running on fumes. In this energizing and insightful session, Dr. Alice Burron delivers a fresh take on stress, performance, and longevity in the legal profession. Drawing from her health shift approach coming from her new book Health Shift: Your Personalized Guide to Making Strategic Health Decisions, she introduces the concept of “stress fitness,” unpacking the physiological impact of high-frequency, low-quality stress and offering realistic strategies attorneys can actually use within their high-demand reality. From redefining recovery to leveraging the Core 4—nutrition, movement, hydration, and sleep—participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to keep their minds sharp, bodies strong, and resilience high, even when time is short. This isn’t about perfection or ideal schedules; it’s about strategy, perspective, and becoming a high-performing professional built to last.
