2019 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference
October 1-4, 2019
Jackson Lake Lodge
101 Jackson Lake Lodge Road
Moran, WY 83013
It is truly my pleasure to cordially invite you all to the 2019 Wyoming State Bar Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference at the historic Jackson Lake Lodge in Moran, Wyoming, on October 1st through the 4th of this year. Nothing compares to the majestic beauty of Grand Teton National Park in the fall.
This year, the Officers, Commissioners and staff of the Wyoming State Bar wanted to offer everyone something unique—a chance to emerge from behind the bench or a busy practice to take a breath and relax in picturesque surroundings. A chance to finally catch up with old friends, colleagues or law school classmates. A chance to spend some quality time with your family outdoors and away from the electronics and day-to-day grind (don’t worry… the Lodge has Wi-Fi throughout now). It is all available at this year’s Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference…along with a dynamic schedule of both nationally acclaimed speakers as well as state specialists. Seventeen continuing legal education credits in all (including 8.5 ethics credits) at an affordable price and with off-season rates beginning in/around the Jackson Hole area!
Kara Ellsbury and her Continuing Legal Education Committee have done a fantastic job on this year’s programming. On Wednesday morning, Mark Lanterman presents a captivating ethical plenary session entitled “Easiest Catch: Don’t Be Another Fish in the Dark Net” whereby he includes practical measures lawyers and judges can take to protect sensitive data (WATCH OUT—this guy can and has hacked into the home addresses, social security numbers and cell phones of the Justices of the United States Supreme Court with minimal effort). Continue onto the Judicial Luncheon with renowned author and Judge Martin Clark, who was heralded by The New York Times as “the thinking man’s John Grisham” and by Entertainment Weekly as “hands down, our finest legal-thriller writer.” You also won’t want to miss on Thursday morning Michael Tigar’s, Emeritus Professor at Duke Law School and American University’s Washington College of Law, plenary session entitled “Learning and Telling the Stories of Your Case.” With over 50 years of litigation experience, hear some new insights on lawyering, and if you wonder whether Michael Tigar will have some ideas you can take home to utilize, put his name into your favorite internet search engine before you attend.
If you choose on Thursday not to take the afternoon off to unwind, Los Angeles attorney Todd Melnik will join us to show and discuss his homicide case that was featured in the Netflix documentary Long Shot. With over 28 years of criminal defense practice, including a TV career of legal commentary for Paramount Pictures, CNN, 60 Minutes, Good Morning America, The Today Show, ESPN and network news programs, Mr. Melnik will share a keynote address Thursday evening of his personal experiences with the criminal justice system, his philosophy on lawyering, and why it is so important for us as attorneys to listen to our clients and investigate their claims completely.
Did I forget to mention the multitude of exhibitors, the social events, available excursions, world class dining options and Yellowstone National Park only a few minutes away?
Travel safely to the northwest corner of Wyoming and I look forward to meeting with you and enjoying everything this year’s Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference has to offer.
Nothing WILL compare!

2019 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference - Sporting Event
WSB Tee Party - Complete and Putter Madness Golf Tournament
Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club
5000 North Spring Gulch Road
Back by popular demand, Richard Mincer and Scott Ortiz will once again be hosting a re-vamped, re-styled, and re-imagined golf tournament. Don’t worry, we’ll be done in plenty of time to hose off before the evening’s festivities. Anyone who likes to have a good time will want to participate. Golf prowess is definitely not required and may even be a detriment in some instances. This is a Tee Party with the emphasis on party. The game is played with golf clubs and balls, for the most part anyway. Each hole will present a unique, irreverent and maybe even diabolical challenge. You’ll be on a team, so you’ll have others at your side to share the thrill of victory and agony of defeat. Come join your fellow bar members for a golf-inspired good time. It’s a TEE PARTY.

2019 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference - Sponsor & Exhibitor Information
The Wyoming State Bar is proud to host the 2019 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference at the beautiful Jackson Lake Lodge in Moran, Wyoming, and we hope you will join us!
Our event offers you a unique opportunity to market your products and/or services either through sponsorships, exhibitor booths or both! See the attached information. We value the relationship that we have with sponsors and exhibitors and hope you will too.
Since requests have traditionally exceeded the supply of available exhibit spaces, we encourage you to sign up today for the 2019 Annual Meeting. The Wyoming State Bar’s largest event, the Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for our members to learn about practice-related products and services, socialize with their colleagues and fulfill their Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements.
Exhibitor space is available in a comfortable and high-visibility pre-function area outside the Annual Meeting seminar rooms. Located immediately in front of, and surrounding, the entrances to most Annual Meeting seminar rooms, and serving as the site for all beverage breaks, these are excellent locations for attracting attendee attention.
For 2019, each space costs $750.00. This fee includes a draped six-foot table, two chairs and attendance for all meals, including: Wednesday’s Judicial Luncheon and Welcome Reception, Thursday’s evening cocktail party and Annual Banquet, and Friday’s Annual Business Meeting Luncheon.
We ask for your prompt response since space is limited, and previous exhibitors receive preference. To ensure your application is properly processed, you must complete and return the Exhibitor Registration Form no later than September 1, 2019.
We hope to see you in Moran!
