Judge Roberts Receives Judicial Excellence Award
CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Bar and the Wyoming Supreme Court are pleased to announce that the Honorable Wesley A. Roberts, Circuit Court judge from the Ninth Judicial District in Riverton, is this year’s recipient of the Larry L. Lehman Award for Judicial Excellence. The award was presented at this year’s Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference, which took place last week at in Laramie.
The award was presented by Chief Justice E. James Burke. The Lehman Award is given in memory of Justice Lehman, who died in 2004, and is remembered for his tireless efforts to improve the operation of the court system to provide greater access to justice for all Wyoming citizens.
Judge Roberts received a B.S. with honors from the University of Wyoming College of Commerce and Industry in 1981. He earned his J.D. from the UW College of Law in 1987. He was appointed to the bench in February 2005.
In presenting the Lehman Award to Judge Roberts, Chief Justice Burke commended him for his leadership amongst the judiciary, his contributions to Wyoming’s system of justice and his dedication in every case to “get it right.”
