Rawlins Attorney Receives Pro Bono Award

CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Bar is pleased to announce that John DeLeon, an attorney from Rawlins, has received a Pro Bono Award for Legal Service for Indigent Clients. Sarah Chavez, a fellow attorney from Rawlins who nominated DeLeon, presented the award last week during the Bar’s Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference in Laramie, Wyoming.

“John has demonstrated a sincere commitment to doing pro bono work in his community,” said Chavez. “He is always looking for ways to improve communication within the practice of law and he has provided countless hours of his time to counseling and assisting individuals with their legal needs.”

DeLeon has worked for the indigent in Carbon County since 2001, including serving as a public defender, guardian ad litem, and representing parents and children in neglect, CHINS and delinquency cases.
