Thybo Elected to Wyoming State Bar Board of Commissioners

CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Bar is pleased to announce that Teresa S. Thybo, an attorney from Green River, Wyoming, has been elected commissioner of the Wyoming State Bar to represent the Third Judicial District, which consists of Lincoln, Sweetwater and Uinta Counties. Thybo will serve a three-year term.

Thybo grew up on a ranch in western South Dakota. She began her education at Casper College in the paralegal program. While attending school in Casper, she worked for Mike Zwickl and Danette Baldacci at Beech Street Law Office. She transferred to the University of Wyoming, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Communications. She then worked for attorneys Mike Schilling and Greg Winn in Laramie. After graduation, she worked for Corthell and King, PC, in Laramie. She left to pursue a job at the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association in order to utilize her Communications degree. However, she missed Wyoming and decided to return.

Thybo wrote for the newspaper in Sundance, Wyoming, before returning to Corthell and King to resume her duties as legal assistant there and the field of law. Having been out of school for four years, she was ready for a challenge and was accepted at the University of Wyoming College of Law. During her third year of law school, she interned with the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office. When she passed the bar, she sought a position at the Sweetwater County Attorney’s Office, where she has been for nearly five years.

The 2015/2016 Election of Commissioners was held in accordance with the Bylaws of the Wyoming State Bar. Thybo succeeds Monica J. Vozakis, who is an attorney from Evanston.
