Barbe Elected President-Elect of Wyoming State Bar

CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Bar is pleased to announce that J. Kenneth Barbe, an attorney from Casper, Wyoming, has been elected President-Elect of its organization and will serve as President in 2021-2022.

The 2020/2021 Election of Officers was held according to Article II, Section 1 and Article VI of the Bylaws of the Wyoming State Bar. The results of the election were announced this week during the Bar’s Virtual Annual Business Meeting.

Barbe succeeds Billie LM Addleman of Cheyenne, Wyoming, who is now the President of the Bar. Barbe previously served as the Vice President of the Wyoming State Bar.

Barbe graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1983 and joined the law firm then known as Brown, Drew, Apostolos, Massey & Sullivan in Casper, Wyoming. He remained with Brown, Drew through its various iterations until January 2012 when he joined the firm of Welborn Sullivan Meck & Tooley, P.C. in its Casper office. Barbe’s law practice is focused primarily in the areas of business transactions and estate planning.  He is listed as a Mountain States Super Lawyer and selected as a Best Lawyer in America in the specialties of Corporate Law, Litigation – Mergers & Acquisitions, and Mergers & Acquisitions Law. Barbe is also recognized by Chambers USA in Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions and Real Estate.

Barbe is a past president of the Natrona County Bar Association and former member of the Board of Law Examiners. He previously served as the Bar Commissioner for the Seventh Judicial District (Natrona County) from July 2015 to September 2017. He was then elected Treasurer of the Bar and served in that capacity for two years. Barbe most recently served a one-year term as the Bar’s Vice President.

Barbe will serve next as President of the Wyoming State Bar. He will reside in that capacity from September 2021 – September 2022.
