CALL FOR COMMENTS – Lawyer Referral Service Rules Amendments
The Board of Officers & Commissioners met in Evanston last Friday, April 21st. At that meeting the Board approved distribution of proposed amendments to the Rules of Operation of the Wyoming State Bar Lawyer Referral Service (LRS) to the membership. The Bar is now seeking your comments on these rules.
The current LRS rules have been on the books since 2005. The rules are generally outdated and not consistent with the way the LRS is operated. Approximately 40 LRS calls are received at the Bar office every day. There are presently 165 lawyers who have signed up and paid their annual membership fees. To join the LRS, lawyers are required to provide evidence of malpractice insurance coverage.
The proposed amendments contain needed updates to the existing rules.

Comments should be submitted to Mark Gifford, Bar Counsel, by May 30, 2017.
