CHEYENNE LAWYER RECEIVES BAR’S PROFESSIONALISM AWARD
CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Bar is pleased to announce that Cheyenne attorney Melinda S. McCorkle is this year’s recipient of its Gerald R. Mason Professionalism Award. The award was presented on September 13th in conjunction with the Bar’s Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference, which took place in Cheyenne.
McCorkle is the 14th recipient of this annual award. The award was presented by Anna M. Reeves Olson, President of the Wyoming State Bar.
The Professionalism Award is given to a Wyoming lawyer who represents the highest standards of ethics and dedication to the law, but also recognizes someone who contributes their time and energy to making the Wyoming Bar and its lawyers the best people they can be.
“I have had the pleasure of learning from and working alongside Melinda for over 10 years. In every circumstance, I have witnessed Melinda exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. In her role as Deputy Bar Counsel, Melinda helps protects the public by educating and assisting Wyoming lawyers to practice ethically and competently,” said Olson.
McCorkle has been awarded the highest rating (AV) by Martindale-Hubble and, in 2017, she was selected as one of the “10 Best Personal Injury Attorneys” in Wyoming by the American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys. In 2014, McCorkle was elected as the Wyoming State Bar Commissioner for the First Judicial District by the attorneys in her district, a position she held until 2019. McCorkle has also served as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Wyoming College of Law (Professional Responsibility) and the Laramie County Community College (Torts).
In her limited free time, McCorkle enjoys traveling and spending time with her son.
