Cybersecurity Awareness Training for Law Firm Employees
June 20, 2022 12:00 PM-1:00 PM
One of the most overlooked aspects of security is training for employees. Employees are involved in more than 80% of successful attacks. It has never been more critical for organizations to implement effective risk mitigation strategies, enhance security posture and protect information assets – which is hard to do without educating your employees.
The one-hour presentation includes recommendations for safe-computing behavior, education on spam, phishing, targeted malware attacks and what users can do to protect themselves and their law firm – and abide by their ethical duties – and there are some good stories along the way to make the lessons stick.
Topics at the training include:
• Social engineering
• Phishing – attachments, links in email, spoofing email address, spelling variants, red flags to help spot phishing, phishing simulations
• Smishing (by via text messages)
• Drive-by malware on websites
• Sharing credentials
• Reusing credentials
• Sharing access to business devices/avoiding personal use of business devices
• Business email compromises, including wire fraud and W-2 scams
• The culture of cybersecurity: See something, say something
• Social media scams
• Securing your smartphones
• Wireless network security
• Public computers and security
• Airplane Wi-Fi
• Juice Jacking
• Baiting flash drives
• Physical security, including hitchhiking and tailgating
• Recycling vs. shredding
• Compliance with firm policies
• Passwords – how to check that they have not been compromised, how to create strong passwords, reusing passwords, password managers
• Two-factor authentication and biometrics
• Cloud computing dangers
