HAWKS ELECTED PRESIDENT-ELECT OF WYOMING STATE BAR

CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Bar is pleased to announce that Christopher H. Hawks, an attorney from Jackson, Wyoming, has been elected President-Elect of its organization and will serve as President in 2022-2023.

The 2021/2022 Election of Officers was held according to Article II, Section 1 and Article VI of the Bylaws of the Wyoming State Bar. The results of the election were announced today during the Bar’s Virtual Annual Business Meeting.

Hawks succeeds J. Kenneth Barbe of Casper, Wyoming, who is now the President of the Bar.

Hawks graduated from the University of Wyoming School of Law in 1991 and has been actively engaged in the practice of law in Jackson, Wyoming, since then. He first worked at the law firm of Spence, Moriarity & Schuster until 1995 when he started his own firm. Hawks’ practice focuses extensively on hospitality and real estate development and advising high net worth families on the formation and administration of Wyoming private trust companies. Hawks has served on the Board of Law Examiners since 2011 and was Chair when Wyoming adopted the Uniform Bar Exam. He is also the Vice-Chair of the Board of Professional Responsibility. Hawks and his wife Jennifer enjoy hiking, surfing, camping, snowmobiling and traveling the world.

Hawks will serve next as President of the Wyoming State Bar. He will reside in that capacity from September 2022 – September 2023.
