NEW! Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Section

The Wyoming State Bar is pleased to announce the creation of a new Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Section of the Wyoming State Bar! The Section’s goals are to inform its members about developments in bankruptcy law, help improve the bankruptcy practice in Wyoming, provide networking and mentorship opportunities, and contribute to the professional advancement of its members.

Bankruptcy law impacts many of our practices, and the Bankruptcy Section aims to help its members address the challenges that come with bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and consumers’ rights. Do you have a family law practice and find yourself wondering how a divorce will impact a bankruptcy? Do you work with owners of mineral rights that are dealing with bankruptcies in the natural resources sector? Is your client trying to collect a debt? Does your client need consumer mortgage debt relief? Whether bankruptcy is already part of your practice, or you have interest in learning more about bankruptcy work in Wyoming, please consider joining the Bankruptcy Section.

You may join the Bankruptcy Section by following this link to the Wyoming State Bar website: CLICK HERE. Online registration does involve a $25 fee that may be paid by credit card.

There has also been a Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Section listserve set up. To subscribe, simply send an e-mail to join@lists.wyomingbar.org with “Bankruptcy Section” in the subject field. Once subscribed, in order to post to the listserve, simply send an e-mail to wybar-bankruptcylaw@lists.wyomingbar.org.

If you would like more information, contact the Section’s president, Brad Sweat, at bsweat@crowleyfleck.com or 307-232-6909.
