CALL FOR COMMENTS: Modest Means Program Rules
The Board of Officers & Commissioners met in Evanston last Friday, April 21st. At that meeting the Board approved distribution of Rules of the Wyoming State Bar Modest Means Program. The Bar is now seeking your comments on these rules.
In 2015, the Bar launched its Modest Means Program (MMP). MMP seeks to match lawyers who are willing to take clients at a reduced fee (a maximum of $75.00 per hour) with clients who fall between 200% and 300% of federal poverty guidelines. The program has been a success, with 78 lawyers signed up. Since its inception, 95 modest means clients have been matched with MMP lawyers.
The proposed rules seek to codify the operating practices of the Modest Means Program.

Comments should be submitted to Mark Gifford, Bar Counsel, by May 30, 2017.
