Governor Matt Mead has appointed Dawnessa Snyder to be District Court Judge for the Second Judicial District in Carbon County. Snyder fills the vacancy occurring with the retirement of Judge Wade Waldrip on July 7.
On May 16, 2017, the Wyoming Supreme Court issued an order adopting Rules for the Client Protection Fund. The purpose of the Client Protection Fund is to promote public confidence in the administration of justice and the integrity of the legal profession by reimbursing losses caused by the dishonest conduct of lawyers licensed to practice law in Wyoming occurring in the course of the lawyer-client relationship.
