2018 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference
September 18-21, 2018
Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center
222 South 22nd Street
Dear Wyoming State Bar Colleagues:
On behalf of the Officers, Commissioners and staff of the Wyoming State Bar, it is my sincere privilege to invite you to join us in Laramie for the Wyoming State Bar’s 2018 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference. The Annual Meeting takes place September 18-21, 2018, at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center on the campus of the University of Wyoming.
The Continuing Legal Education Committee, chaired by Billie LM Addleman, put together a truly amazing line-up of CLEs for this year’s Annual Meeting. For example, on Wednesday, September 19, renowned attorney and author Michael Tigar will present a plenary session entitled “Learning and Telling the Story of Your Case,” and on Thursday, September 20, law professor Lorraine Bannai will present a session on the Japanese American incarceration during WWII. Bannai was a member of Fred Korematsu’s coram nobis team that - decades after WWII - successfully challenged the incarceration of Japanese Americans, eventually leading to a formal apology from the United States and restitution of more than $1,000,000,000 for those who were improperly incarcerated. This year’s Annual Banquet keynote speaker is Ed Hochuli, a long-time trial attorney in the Arizona law firm of Jones, Skelton and Hochuli, P.L.C. Hochuli is better known for his work as an NFL referee, including in two Super Bowls—the Broncos 31-24 Super Bowl XXXII victory over the Packers, and the Patriots’ thrilling 32-29 win over the Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII.
An Annual Meeting would not be complete without some fun things to do outside of the “classroom,” and this year’s Annual Meeting will be no different. In addition to the Welcome Reception and Pro Bono Luncheon, we are encouraging you to enjoy the fall weather in Albany County during this year’s Annual Meeting, including by participating in a golf tournament at Jacoby Golf Course, and in a 5K run through downtown Laramie. Devon O’Connell’s “Yoga for Lawyers” is also back by popular demand. For those interested in arriving a few days early, the Wyoming Cowboys host the Wofford Terriers at War Memorial Stadium on Saturday, September 15.
As usual, the most rewarding part of the Annual Meeting will be seeing and visiting with old friends and colleagues, as well as finding new friends from amongst the Bar and Bench. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Annual Meeting in September, and wish you all safe and happy travels on your way to Laramie.

Second Amendment Trap Shoot & Annie Oakley Tournament
Laramie Trap Club
Join your colleagues for the Bar’s second trap shoot and tournament! Each participant will enjoy two rounds of trap (25 clays per round) followed by an Annie Oakley Tournament. Tournament rules are as follows: Starting with the shooter on the far left end of the line, the shooting begins. The first shooter calls for a target and must shoot the target on the rise. If he/she hits the target, the next shooter to his/her right will call for a target. If the first shooter misses his/her target, the second shooter must shoot at it. If he/she hits the target, the first shooter is out. If the second shooter misses the target, the third shooter has the option of shooting at it. If he/she hits the target, the first and second shooters are out. If he/she misses it, all shooters are safe and the second shooter will start the next round. This sequence is repeated down the line. When the next-to-last shooter is first, it makes the person on the far left the third shooter. The rotation will continue until there is only one shooter left. A shooter who shoots out of turn or shoots at a target that has been hit will be out. Enjoy!
PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN GUN
The race will begin in downtown Laramie at 217 S 1st Street
Join us for Race Judicata, a 5K fun run, September 20, 2018, at 6:45 a.m. The race will begin in downtown Laramie at 217 S 1st St. This easy, mostly flat course will lead participants through historic downtown Laramie featuring many beautiful murals and across the pedestrian footbridge over the railroad tracks for a jaunt along the Laramie River.
WSB Tee Party - Complete and Putter Madness Golf Tournament
Jacoby Golf Course
3501 East Willett Drive
Richard Mincer and Scott Ortiz are hosting a re-vamped, re-styled, and re-imagined golf tournament. Don’t worry, we’ll be done in plenty of time to hose off before the evening’s festivities. Anyone who likes to have a good time will want to participate. Golf prowess is definitely not required and may even be a detriment in some instances. This is a Tee Party with the emphasis on party. The game is played with golf clubs and balls, for the most part anyway. Each hole will present a unique, irreverent and maybe even diabolical challenge. You’ll be on a team, so you’ll have others at your side to share the thrill of victory and agony of defeat. Come join your fellow bar members for a golf-inspired good time. It’s a TEE PARTY.

2018 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference - Sponsor & Exhibitor Information
The Wyoming State Bar is proud to host the 2018 Annual Meeting & Judicial Conference at the beautiful Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center in Laramie, Wyoming, and we hope you will join us!
Our event offers you a unique opportunity to market your products and/or services either through sponsorships, exhibitor booths or both! See the attached information. We value the relationship that we have with sponsors and exhibitors and hope you will too.
Since requests have traditionally exceeded the supply of available exhibit spaces, we encourage you to sign up today for the 2018 Annual Meeting. The Wyoming State Bar’s largest event, the Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for our members to learn about practice-related products and services, socialize with their colleagues and fulfill their Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements.
Exhibitor space is available in a comfortable and high-visibility pre-function area outside the Annual Meeting seminar rooms. Located immediately in front of, and surrounding, the entrances to most Annual Meeting seminar rooms, and serving as the site for all beverage breaks, these are excellent locations for attracting attendee attention.
For 2018, each space costs $750.00. This fee includes a draped six-foot table, two chairs and attendance for all meals, including: Wednesday’s Judicial Luncheon and Welcome Reception, Thursday’s Luncheon, evening cocktail party and Annual Banquet, and Friday’s Annual Business Meeting Luncheon.
We ask for your prompt response since space is limited, and previous exhibitors receive preference. To ensure your application is properly processed, you must complete and return the Exhibitor Registration Form no later than September 1, 2018.
We hope to see you in Laramie!
