This CLE will focus on interactions with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office relating to trademark applications. Topics include: common procedural reasons for refusals to register, common substantive reasons for refusals to register, strategies for responding to Office Actions, and ongoing maintenance of trademark registrations.

So much of the practice of law involved decision-making, and convincing others to make better decisions based upon fact rather than emotion. This course is intended to guide the attendees to appreciate how they involuntarily make decision and guide them to recognize and prevent bias.

The adverse expert is typically the most dangerous witness because he testifies cloaked in the mantle of the “unbiased scientist;” thus, his testimony – if accepted by the jury – can determine an issue … maybe the entire case.
