Governor Appoints New Justice to the Wyoming Supreme Court
Governor Matt Mead has appointed Judge Keith Kautz as the newest member of the Wyoming Supreme Court. Kautz replaces Justice Marilyn Kite, who has been on the Supreme Court since 2000 – serving as the first female justice and chief justice on the high court.
Call For Resolutions
Members wishing to have resolutions considered must submit such resolutions 30 days prior to the Annual Business Meeting. Resolutions must be received by August 12, 2015.
New CLE Rules Effective July 1st
The Wyoming Supreme Court recently approved proposed amendments to the CLE Rules. The new rules went into effect July 1, 2015.
Parker Appointed U.S. Bankruptcy Judge
On Tuesday, June 2nd, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit appointed Honorable Cathleen D. Parker to the bankruptcy bench for the District of Wyoming.
Calling Interested Volunteers
The Wyoming State Bar could not operate effectively without hundreds of lawyers, judges and laymembers who generously volunteer their time to serve on numerous Boards and Committees. The Bar is always recruiting volunteers to serve on these Boards and Committees.

The Wyoming State Bar is currently soliciting nominations for the Officers of the Wyoming State Bar, commissioners from the Third, Seventh, and Eighth judicial districts, the Judicial Nominating Commission, and the leadership of the Young Lawyers Section and the Energy & Natural Resources Section.

The Board of Officers and Commissioners is again inviting members to comment on the revised draft of the attorney lien statute.
13 Recommended to Practice Law in Wyoming
The Wyoming State Bar today announced that 13 people have been recommended for admission to practice law in Wyoming.
Seven Attorneys Suspended From Practice of Law in Wyoming
The Wyoming Supreme Court has suspended seven lawyers from the practice of law in Wyoming for failing to comply with Rule 4 and Rule 10(a) of the Rules of the Wyoming Supreme Court for Continuing Legal Education.
